Congratulations to AeroShield and Elise Strobach for winning the 2019 MIT Clean Energy Prize! AeroShield manufactures a super-insulating nano-glass material developed at the DRL for use in energy efficient windows. AeroShield windows are up to 40% more insulating that traditional double-pane windows, enabling energy savings and improved thermal comfort in buildings at a fraction of the cost of existing approaches.
